Pokemon Art Academy release ready for holiday season

This October 24th – tomorrow, that is – Pokemon Art Academy will be released for Nintendo 3DS. This is the game announced earlier this year, the one that'll teach you to draw Pokemon characters from scratch! Inside this "game" you'll find many of your favorite Pokemon images to work with including Pikachu, Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip. You'll recognize those last three as your three standard Partner Pokemon from the upcoming releases Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire – there'll be more from that release, too!

You'll find Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing speaking strongly about how important it is that the Nintendo 3DS is the launch platform for Pokemon Art Academy. "Pokémon Art Academy makes it easy for people of all ages to learn to draw their favorite characters. ... It's another example of how Nintendo maximizes the capabilities of its hardware systems to deliver smiles and compelling experiences to consumers in unique ways."

This game requires you to draw, and draw lots! Inside the game you'll be under the tutelage of "Professor Andy", a fellow much like the original Professor Oak who starts you out with the basics.

You'll be working with virtual colored pencils, markers, and pastels. You'll work with "advanced techniques" like light sourcing as well. Once you're done with basic lessons, you'll gain access to "a special set of lessons" that include all manner of Mega-Evolved Pokemon.

This game will be able to be purchased in physical form for a suggested retail price of $29.99 USD. You'll also be able to check it out in a pre-order digital style through the Nintendo eShop if you wish.
