Podo wireless camera fits in your palm, sticks to the wall

Unless you're a photographer, your smartphone camera is probably your primary camera. Though it is convenient, there are times when having a dedicated camera can come in handy as well (like when you're wanting to record from a drone or underwater). Podo is one of those little standalone cameras that target the everyday consumer and work with the tech you already have (again, your smartphone). It's smaller than a compact digital camera, however, and can be stuck on surfaces with its adhesive backing.

Podo is bid as the first "stick and shoot" camera, being small enough to fit in the palm of your hand with a reusable sticky back that allows it to be easily affixed to surfaces. The camera is wireless, which makes transferring images to a smartphone easy, and it features an 8MP camera that can record 720p video.

The camera, and others like it, come in handy in situations where one is alone and wants a self-picture without it looking like a "selfie" (close up, head only, etc). You can stick it to a wall, back up, take a picture, then beam it to your phone and share it on social media. Both iOS and Android apps are available.

Podo has found success on Kickstarter, where its maker Podo Labs is looking to raise $50,000 USD. Backers have pledged more than twice that amount (there's currently $106,900 in pledges), and with 47 days remaining there's enough time to get one for yourself. The early bird batches have already been nabbed by the earliest backers, but you can get one in red or blue for the discounted rate of $89 USD. Shipping starts in August of this year.
