Podcast app adds better Siri features, navigation

Apple recently updated their Podcast app for iOS, making some significant changes along the way. The most notable is direct integration with Siri, where you can ask her to play your favorite Podcast. Car Play integration and some handy UI changes are also incoming with the updated app.

Car Play, Apple's new integrated car system, is also getting deep podcast integration. You can now share links directly to your car via Air Drop, or play any station via the Car Play stations list by hitting the Play Button.

Siri makes for the more interesting new feature, as all podcasts can start streaming right form within Siri. You can simply say "play podcasts" for a stream, or ask to play a particular podcast to jump straight to one.

A new unplayed tab shows all the podcasts you've yet to listen to, while a new feed option shows those which are ready for download. There is also a way to have the app delete a podcast after you listen to it as well, making library management that much easier.

Bug fixes are present, as always, which promise to fix playback when syncing with iTunes as well as download changes. The update is available now, so check for it if you don't have it. For heavy Podcast users, it's a welcome change. It may also attract new users who felt the Podcast app was a bit dated.
