Pioneer DDJ-SZ DJ controller supports Serato DJ software

Pioneer has announced a new addition to its line of DJ gear with the Serato compatible DDJ-SZ DJ controller. The company says that the DDJ-SZ is designed for the DJ that likes the performance specs of the Pioneer professional gear, but prefers and all in one system. The DDJ-SZ is 35% larger than Pioneer's DDJ-SX controller adding in extra functionality.

The SZ has extra large JOG wheels that are the same size as the wheels found on CDJ players. The controller also has large performance pads with multi color illumination and a DJM style mixer. The SZ also has dual USB ports and a MAGVEL cross fader.

The DJ controller is optimized for working with the latest Serato DJ software. The big jog wheels measure 8.1-inches and offer the response needed for accurate and smooth scratching and mixing. The performance pads of the controller have four effects buttons including hot cue, roll, slicer, and sampler. Under those buttons are eight large velocity sensitive performance pads.

The dual USB ports allow the connection of two computers allowing for switching between the PCs creating transitions. The SZ also has a mixer with an oscillator, sound color FX, and DVS functionality. The DDJ-SZ has a pair of built-in 24-bit soundcards with a Wolfson DAC and a low-jitter clock. The Pioneer DDJ-SZ will ship in March for $2399.
