Photoshop 1.0 recreated for iPhone [Video]

Adobe already have a version of Photoshop available for the iPhone in the App Store, but what if your tastes run more retro than that? Ansca Mobile have taken their Corona iPhone development platform and a copy of Photoshop 1.0, and produced a special version intended for last week's 20th anniversary of the Adobe app. It allows access to the Photoshop 1.0 Levels panel, taking any image in the iPhone's gallery and letting you tweak white point, black point and gamma, in separate red/green/blue or combined channels.Video demo after the cut

They also reworked the 1990 software's splash screen, and used all of the original UI graphics and font images from the Macintosh System 6 version of the app. Impressively, it only took a few days of primary coding to get it all running, though that's probably more down to the Corona 1.1 development environment than anything else.

Best of all, they used the original Photohut icon – rather than the 1.0 icon – for an added splash of nostalgia. As for a full release, Ansca Mobile say they're waiting on Adobe's approval before that can take place.
