Periscope for iOS update brings simplified blocking

Periscope has pushed out a new update for its iOS app, and with it comes some new features, not the least of which is the ability to more easily block viewers while you're streaming. As expected, the update also brings a few bug fixes in tow, such as that caching issue that was presenting the wrong user profile picture, as well as the problem that prevented some from watching broadcasts that were being heavily watched by others. We've the full change log after the jump!

Periscope pushed out the update today, bringing its iOS app to version 1.0.2. With the update comes a "Global" section that is new, and in it users can see a list of the newest live broadcasts globally, while the home feed itself only presents broadcasts/replays that you'd (probably) be interested in.

Joining that new section is a new "Follower Only" mode that gives users the ability to limits a broadcast to comments from people that user follows. Further refining the commenting feature is also a new block feature that makes the banhammer process easier — users only need to tap on a comment to pull up an option to block the commenter.

Rounding out the new features are the Twitter Verified badges for verified users, and "major scrolling performance improvements", providing a noticeable improvement over the previous version. In addition, and joining those aforementioned bug fixes, the problem that caused some viewers/broadcasters to no longer see hearts and comments has been corrected.
