Pentax announced 14.6Mp Digital SLR, K20D

Pentax newest high end DSLR K20D uses the same body design based on previous 10Mp model, k10D. The replacement features a newly developed 14.6 MP CMOS image sensor made in conjunction with the company's partner in digital SLR development, Samsung. Additional new features including Live View and expand dynamic range function.

Like the K200D, it also has dust removal and CCD-based anti-shake function. The body uses a high-rigidity stainless-steel chassis with dust-proof and water-resistant construction, and has a large 2.7-inch LCD display.

Other features included high precision 11-points TTL phase-match AF with 9 cross-type sensors, extendable ISO sensitivity up to 6400 , range of picture and scene modes and 36 custom functions. The continuous shooting mode is capable of 3fps for 38 jpeg/16 Raw files or high speed burst with 21 fps at 1.6MP. It runs on lithium-ion battery pack D-LI50, compatible with optional battery grip (D-BG2) and supports SD/SDHC media storage. The K20D will be released in April and priced at $1300.
