Pandigital offers up a new Novel 7-inch color eReader

Pandigital has announced its latest eReader that supports multimedia content. The new reader is called the Novel 7-inch Color Multimedia eReader and uses a full color TFT LCD matte display. That screen has a resolution of 800 x 600 and offers touch functionality and an intuitive user interface according to the maker.

The screen will also accept input from a stylus that stores on the side of the reader when not needed. The reader offers highlighting functionality and the user can change the fonts and create multiple bookmarks to suit their needs. The tablet runs Android OS and has an ARM 11 mobile processor. One of the cool features of the new reader is a built-in word and character search function and the device offers a night reading mode where the text and background colors are inverted for discrete viewing.

The new Novel reader also has an onscreen keyboard for typing emails and other information. Onboard storage is 2GB and the reader has a SD card slot that will work with cards up to 32GB. Overall dimensions are 5.2" W x 7.2" H x 0.5" D and the thing weighs 11.8 ounces. The reader will ship next month and cost $199.99.
