Panasonics Launches New 1080p PT-AE3000 Projector

Panasonic has announced a replacement for its popular line of 1080p consumer graded Home Theater projector PT-AE2000 with the PT-AE3000. The new projector is cosmetically identical to the last two-generation models except loaded with better spec and newer features. Projector fanatic will probably disappoint that the new model is still using the same old D7 panel from Epson. But the engineers behind the wheel managed to boost the brightness rating up to 1600 lumen and dynamic contrast ratio of 60,000:1.

As for video and image processing, you'll get the Panasonic signature Smooth Screen technology and improved version of Detail Clarity Processor V2.0. The PT-AE3000 now features a Frame Creation technology which allows user to change the interpolation frame rate of 60hz or 120hz for 60hz input source.

Other features including a 2x zoom lens, wider movie theater aspect ratio of 21:9, 100 percent vertical adjustment and 40 percent horizontal adjustment lens shift, waveform monitor and split screen adjust mode. The input terminals include trio set of Deep Color HDMI 1.3 and pair of component inputs. Shipping date is set on next month with rather disappointed retail price of $3,499. If you are looking for a better candidate, try Sony VPL-HW10.
