'Pacapong' game cobbles together Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Pong

Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Pong...all games that have been entertaining gamers for a long while, and are now the source of a new game that has cobbled them all together in a masterful way. The game is called "Pacapong", and largely revolves around a modern Pac-Man board with Pong paddles on both sides, Space Invaders dropping down around them, and Pac-Man being flung through the board — between the ghosts — into the paddles. It's a wonderful way to put your skills to the test, and a refreshing twist on the long-standing classics.

You're likely familiar with the games, but in case you're not, Pong is that ultra-simple ball-bouncing game where a square ping pong ball is bounced around the screen and reflected at the other player using a sliding paddle. Those paddles work the same way in Pacapong, but Pac-Man himself is the Pong ball.

While flung between the paddles, you'll need to steer Pac-Man through the board and around the ghosts, which will try to catch you the same way as they always do. The gamer also has to shoot the Space Invader aliens as they surface, and there are some Donkey Kong barrels tossed into the mix for good measure.

The game is available for Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows, and can be downloaded for free directly from the developer's own website. The website also includes some demos of the game, so you can see it for yourself in action before downloading.
