Operation "Troll the NSA" seeks to jam the agency with nonsense

The Obama administration and NSA have been under extreme public fire lately after a report by The Washington Post revealed a project called PRISM, which snowballed into a variety of other leaks and such that revealed what we already knew: the government is spying on Internet users. In retaliation, an Internet trolling operation has been kicked off called "Troll the NSA," which is encouraging Internet users to email and/or call a pre-written script loaded with trigger words.

The idea behind the trolling operation is that the NSA and other government agencies monitor content based on trigger words that could indicate the poster is up to nefarious activities, such as the words "bomb" and "downfall," and even more simple things like "Manhattan." In order to cause (in theory, at least) a bit of chaos, the folks behind the trolling operation want the Internet flooded with a message containing those words.

The operation is slated to take place on June 12 at 7PM Eastern Time, which is about 1 day and 20 hours from now. The operation supplies a stock message, which is several paragraphs long, that details a mundane complaint about a bummer day and unlikable boss, only it is filled with a variety of words and phrases that, when viewed out of context, make it seem like the message could be detailing the mass and imminent fall of the good ol' US of A.

Here's a snippet:

Hey! How's it going? I'm all right.

My job is so sh*tty I wish could overthrow my boss. It's like this oppressive regime where only true believers in his management techniques will stay around. I work marathon-length hours and he's made all these changes that have made it the worst architecture firm to work at in Manhattan. Like he moved the office to the Financial District and fired my assistant. She was the only one who knew where the blueprints were! I need access to those blueprints to complete my job!

If that amused you, you can check out the full pre-written message at the link below; it prattles on about health, Breaking Bad, and missing a class. The operation is detailed on a single Web page, which does not say who is responsible for the trolling effort. There's a single "Contact Us" link, which is a simple mail:to that pulls up your preferred email client and the address "trollthensa@gmail.com".
