OnePlus 3T release details launch

This morning the OnePlus 3T has been detailed in full – albeit a bit early – thanks to a cached OnePlus webpage via Google. This device takes the features and abilities of the recently launched OnePlus 3 and turns up the volume just a tiny bit. This phone looks almost identical to its most recent predecessor – one could mistake one for the other quite easily.

This smartphone has a 5.5-inch display with 1080p (Full HD) (1920 x 1080 pixel density). That's 401 PPI (pixels per inch) with a bezel that's 0.755 mm, covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. This display uses "Optic AMOLED" technology and has an aspect ratio of 16 : 9. Like its predecessor, this phone's display has both Light and Dark themes, a Night Mode, and Accent Colors abilities for quick theme-switching.

The back-facing camera is 16MP large with a Sony IMX 298 sensor. That brings about 1.12 µm pixels and both optical image stabilization and electronic image stabilization. This back-facing camera uses PDAF autofocus and has an aperture at f/2.0. This camera can capture RAW photos and supports 4K video up to 30fps and 720p video up to 120fps.

The front-facing camera is also 16MP large and uses a Samsung 3P8SP sensor – that's bringing on 1.0 µm pixels. This front-facing camera has EIS, PDAF autofocus, and an aperture of f/2.0. Video captured with this camera can be up to 1080p and up to 30fps.

Inside is Android Marshmallow with the newest version of OxygenOS. This phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Quad Core, Kryo: 2x 2.35 GHz, 2x 1.6 GHz. The GPU that accompanies these four CPU cores is the Adreno 530. This phone has 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and either 64 or 128GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage.

There's also a fingerprint sensor on this phone, hall sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. Up front is a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and an electronic compass rests inside. A dual nano-SIM slot is included – but no microSD support. Bluetooth 4.2 is joined by NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou.

The OnePlus 3T is set to be available today in two colors: Gunmetal and Soft Gold. These colors are not explosive – instead they're meant to keep it cool while the front of the phone does all the eye-blasting work. The box contains the smartphone, a pre-applied screen protector, 1x Dash Type-C usb cable, 1x Dash power adapter, a SIM tray ejector tool, and both quick start and safety guides.
