Olympus X-560WP & T100 Waterproof and Entry-Level Digital Cameras Announced

One might consider cameras to be a dime-a-dozen, but that's not a bad thing. Even the simplest of cameras can attract anyone's eye, especially if they're shiny enough. And if they can go underwater, well, that's just an added bonus. Today, Olympus unveiled the waterproof X-560WP, and the entry-level T100 for the whole world to see.

The X-560WP digital camera is of the 10MP variety, and can capture photos while submerged in 10 feet of water. It also features automatic scene detection, face detection (for up to 16 faces), and an auto-correction mode that's specifically designed to improved shadows or red-eye in photos. It also features AF tracking, and a 3X optical zoom. Digital image stabilization is automatically built-in, and there are 18 shooting modes for you to peruse through. You have the option of choosing between SD or XD memory cards to store all your images. It's available right now for only $160.

As for the entry-level T100, it also has a 3X optical zoom and AF tracking, but its face detection can only track up to 12 faces, not 16. You can view the images you snap on a 2.4-inch LCD on the back of the camera, and if you really need to catch a video, it can do that at VGA resolution. The pricing and availability for the T100 hasn't been announced quite yet.
