Olympics Opening Ceremonies plagued by BSOD

I think we've all encountered the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) at one time or another, but never has it been so epic in both size and scale than at the opening ceremonies for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Just as Li Ning was nearing the cauldron, one eagle-eyed attendant snapped this photo of the BSOD peaking out from behind the steel cross beams of the Bird's Nest. How embarrassing! But of course, with the endless projection screens that surround the entire lip of the stadium, it's inevitable one would fail.

Well, maybe not inevitable but everything else went off without a hitch. One mistake is forgivable. Besides, the BSOD can just remind us of how similar we all are. In the U.S. or China, we all get technological glitches at the most inopportune moments.
