OCZ announces Core Series V2 SSDs

OCZ has announced brand new Core Series V2 SSDs. The new drives follow the release a little over a month ago of OCZ's original Core Series SSDs. The new drive have increase read and write speeds and are now available in four different sizes instead of three.

The SSDs are going to be available in 30GB, 60GB, 120GB, and 250GB capacities, and read speeds for the drives have been increased to 170MB per second while write speeds are at 98MB/sec.

One unique feature of the OCZ drive is that they all have a mini-USB port which allows users to upgrade the devices firmware themselves and keep it working their best. OCZ Technology CEO Ryan Petersen said "As SSD technology progresses, OCZ will continue to release updated and enhanced solutions to ensure our customers stay on the leading edge. The new Core V2 drives offer consumers and system integrators increased capacities up to 250GB, improved read and write performance and faster seek time, all coupled with a new mini USB port empowering customers with the ability to further improve performance and compatibility by updating firmware in the future."
