NVIDIA GeForce Experience 1.8 update brings customization abilities

If you've been working with the NVIDIA GeForce Experience app over the past year or so, you've found that a single click of a button can result in full-on optimization of game settings for your gaming rig. What NVIDIA is doing this week is updating the GeForce Experience to version 1.8, this thereby allowing the customization of your optimized experience. While you wont have the NVIDIA-suggested perfect combo, you'll have whatever you think is best, and all from a single control station rather than inside each individual game.

With GeForce Experience 1.8, users will be able to work with one-click Optimal Playable Settings as they were before. With this update, they'll also be able to push abilities that you might know to work perfect for your normal gaming setup. Features like resolutions up to 3840 x 2160, Fullscreen, Windowed, and Borderless Windowed modes, and sliders for the rest are available with this update.

Adjusting settings will have the same effect as they would with in-game settings menus, here showing the lot of them with super-simple sliders to move as you might. Here you'll be able to push the envelope with performance over image quality, best of the best in one segment or another, or simply trust NVIDIA's judgement as you may have for the past several months.

NVIDIA ShadowPlay comes in its second iteration with this release, now allowing some much-needed boosts like multi-source audio. Here you'll be recording video from your machine's display with great ease, working with H.264 hardware encoders built-in to GeForce GTX 600 and 700 Series desktop GPUs for minimal drag and manageable files in the end.

Unfortunately this update does not quite bring on the direct streaming to Twitch that we'd seen up close earlier this year. We're expecting this streaming action to at least match the smoothness of that of the PlayStation 4 when it arrives early 2014.
