Nokia N86 8MP NAM tipped for August 22nd US launch

According to The Nokia Blog's sources, the Nokia N86 8MP NAM will land in US stores come August 22nd.  Announced back at Mobile World Congress in February, the N86 8MP has, unsurprisingly, an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, 3G HSDPA/HSUPA, a 2.6-inch OLED display running at 240 x 320 QVGA resolution, and 8GB of onboard memory augmented with microSD cards.

As for the price, the expected sticker is $499; oddly enough that's less than the pre-order price over at Nokia's official webstore, where the N86 goes for $558.  Flagship stores may end up getting their stock in a few days earlier than the 22nd, so it'll be worth ringing around if you're nearby one.

While the N86 8MP may fall short in sheer megapixel number compared to other camera-equipped cellphones on – or nearly on – the market, according to Nokia it's the strength and selection of their optics that will make all the difference.  Check out our hands-on video with the phone below.
