Nokia N79 Eco sheds charger & shaves packaging for eco-cred

If the Nokia N79 Active sounded too much like hard work for you, and you're more concerned with hugging pandas, then the Finns may have a package more to your tastes.  The N79 Eco [via] has a new "petrol black" casing, with three included covers (in dark gray, steel gray and deep plum) but lacks a Nokia charger.  The assumption is that buyers will already have a Nokia power brick left over from their last device.

Other than the new color, the N79 itself is unchanged.  That means you still get a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA, integrated GPS and a 2.4-inch LCD panel.  Nokia bundle a 4GB microSD card with the standard N79, which we presume is unchanged with the Eco version, plus there's also WiFi, Bluetooth and an FM transmitter.

Nokia have also shaved some bulk off the packaging, shipping the N79 in a smaller box, and they donate £4 ($5.96) to the WWF for every N79 Eco sold.  It's available now, from Nokia UK, priced at £319 unlocked ($467).
