Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo hits GT6 in July

The garages of Gran Turismo 6 are gaining a new outlandish racer, with Nissan revealing the Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo set to hit the virtual tracks in July. The concept, cooked up by Nissan's Design Europe team in London, is the latest in a series of one-off specials from car companies invited to think outlandishly for PlayStation gamers, not to mention a potential hint at the direction future production models might take.

Details of the virtual car have not been shared yet, so it's unclear what sort of powertrain Nissan envisages at this stage. Still, there's plenty to go in with styling alone, with Nissan's designers taking some cues from existing concepts we've seen from the firm.

For instance, there are hints of the Infiniti EMERG-E concept we drove last year, though obviously the Gran Turismo car is more aggressive. A possible recipient of some of this design could well be the next-gen Nissan GT-R, though it would undoubtedly be diluted down somewhat first.

It's not the first time Gran Turismo and Nissan have worked together on an unusual project. The game was actually used to help tune up a real-world racing car, while in return the telemetry from the actual car was used to better model the performance of its in-game counterpart.

As for previous GT6 exclusives, Nissan joins the ranks of VW and BMW as having cooked up one-off cars for the title.
