Nintendo Switch weekly eShop update: Pokemon and global conflict

This past week has been fairly silent in terms of new releases on the Switch eShop, but that all changes starting tomorrow. There are three big games hitting the Switch over the course of the next week, making this one of the biggest release weeks we've seen for the console so far. It all starts, of course, with a pair of new Pokemon games.

As most Switch owners are almost certainly aware by now, those Pokemon titles are Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee. These are modern-day re-imaginings of Pokemon Yellow with a bit of influence from Pokemon GO thrown in for good measure. As such, they'll probably be the perfect games for newcomers to the series, or those who have only ever played Pokemon casually throughout the years.

Next up, we've got the Switch release of Civilization VI. If catching cute monsters isn't your thing, perhaps world domination is? Both of those games will be joined by Warframe, which is a free-to-play action title that has seen a lot of success on PC. Have a look at the full list below for all of this week's upcoming releases.

It's going to be interesting to see how Pokemon Let's Go performs, as it resembles the core games in the franchise without really being one itself (at least not completely). This is merely a teaser for what's coming next year, with Game Freak and Nintendo planing to launch a core Pokemon game for the Switch at some point in the second half of 2019.
