Nikon's iP-PJ Transfer App for iOS lets you project images with Coolpix S1200pj

Nikon has release its iP-PJ Transfer App for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch that works with the company's recently launched Coolpix S1200pj digital camera, which sports a built-in projector. The app lets you use the Coolpix S1200pj to project and share images and documents saved on your iOS device.

This app extends the capabilities of the Coolpix S1200pj beyond projecting photos and videos stored on the camera itself, which features a 14.1-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, and supports ups to 720p HD video recording. The camera also features a 3-inch LCD viewer and began shipping back in September for $429.95.

The built-in projector has 20 lumens of brightness and can project on to a 60-inch screen. However, it's not clear whether it can only project still images and documents or if it can project whatever is on the screen of your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Also, its native resolution is 1024 x 768, so images will be scaled down.
