Nikon D5300 melds quality SLR performance with wireless connectivity

For many photographers, especially hobbyists, the convenience and portability of a digital camera becomes almost moot when they can't share with family and friends the memorable moments they capture when and where they happen. That is why Nikon has put out its new D5300 D-SLR camera in order to capture and share stunning photographs and videos wherever you are.

As a digital SLR camera, the D5300 doesn't skimp on quality. Sporting a 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor that eschews optical low pass filter, the camera is able to deliver clear and detailed images. Low light settings are also not a problem, as the Nikon D5300 supports an ISO range from 100 to 12,800, and can even be expanded to 25,600 to deal with even the most challenging and darkest night shots. The beating heart of the D5300 is Nikon's latest EXPEED 4 image processor which not only makes the camera fast and responsive but also cuts down on image noise as well as energy usage.

With a smart scene recognition system and a 39-point autofocus system, capturing moving objects such as kids and animals will no longer be a problem. From bird's eye views to selfies, angled shots are also no problem for the D5300 with its 3.2-inch vari-angle 1,037K-dot LCD monitor. But still shots aren't the only things this Nikon camera is good at, as it can comfortably shoot Full HD 1080p videos at frame rates of 60p and stereo audio, utilizing the same AF features to keep subjects always in focus.

Of course, as a truly connected D-SLR, the Nikon D5300 features WiFi connectivity for easy sharing of photos and images through e-mail or social networking services via connected smartphones or tablets. Supported devices include Android smartphones running Android 2.3 and later, Android tablets with Android 3.0 or higher, and iPhones and iPads running on iOS 6.0 or later. The camera also has built-in GPS that will let users geotag their photos.

The Nikon D5300, together with an AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens, will be available starting this month with a price tag of $1,399.95. The camera comes in black, grey, and red color options and will be compatible with other NIKKOR lenses and accessories.
