New WWDC banner suggests iOS 8 will arrive next week

As they are wont to do, Apple has begun erecting banners ahead of WWDC. The various posters are meant to welcome attendees, but give us all a hint at what's to come from the conference. While we previously saw a banner with Apple's tagline for the event, we now see that iOS 8 will, indeed, be showing up at Moscone West.

A massive banner with a very svelte "8" centered on it has been erected at the site, which tells us all we need to know. Last year, an iOS 7 banner gave us a look of the flatter, more colorful aesthetic the new version of iOS brought, replacing iOS 6's metallic harshness.

If we're to speculate, iOS 8 may lose some of the polarizing color scheme iOS 7 brought us. The blue background suggests a more subdued color scheme, but is eerily reminiscent of an older OS X banner. The blue background seems to be water, which looks a bit like a "waves" banner we saw last year for OS X Mavericks at WWDC.

That could indicate some of the power features we've been hearing about, like Text/Edit and split-screen functionality are coming. Whatever Apple rolls out, we'll be there live to bring you all the action, so be sure to check back starting Monday at 10am PST!
