New Nintendo Switch bundle drops today with eShop bonus

We're smack in the middle of a period that's generally pretty slow for video game sales, so it wasn't very surprising to see Nintendo announce a new Switch bundle last week. Though the bundle doesn't come with a pack-in game like some of the others Nintendo has launched, it does include a $35 credit to the eShop. Given the number of indie titles that have come to the Switch over the past two years, that $35 credit could go a pretty long way when it comes to buying games.

That Switch bundle is available beginning today, so if it caught your eye when it was first announced, you can now pick one u[. This bundle is likely to sell out rather quickly thanks to the simple fact that Nintendo doesn't often like to offer bonuses alongside the Switch. Every so often we see a Switch bundle that comes with a pack-in title, but those are relatively few and far between.

Given Nintendo's aversion to discounts, a pack-in title or an eShop credit like what we see here is about as good as we can expect. That's especially true with the Switch selling as well as it has been – any discounts or bonuses are going to be hard to come by, so that's why this bundle with the eShop credit might not be around for very long.

In any case, the bundle comes with a Switch console with neon red and blue Joy-Cons and a code card for that $35 eShop credit. There are plenty of quality games to spend that credit on as well, whether you're looking to put it toward a more expensive first-party game like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or you want to pick up a few indie titles like Stardew Valley, Moonlighter, or Wargroove.

In short, it's a good way to jump start your Switch game collection, even if the console itself doesn't come with a game. Nintendo's new Switch bundle is available now at retailers across the US, and we suspect that once it sells out it's gone, so consider picking one up if you've been thinking of getting Nintendo's latest console.
