New Beats Powerbeats Pro colors arrive for preorder this week

The Beats Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds revealed in early April and initially released in May will be arriving in new colors starting this week. The three new color options will go up for preorder on Apple's website starting on August 22, giving consumers a chance to nab a unit ahead of the planned shipping and store rollout on August 30.

The Beats Powerbeats Pro offer AirPods 2 tech in a form factor better suited for more active users, bringing with them an ear hook on each earpiece to help hold the units in place. As well, the Powerbeats Pro are sweat-resistant, feature physical controls, and pack the Apple H1 chipset.

This model originally went up for preorder in early May days before release, but only in the relatively boring black color. Beats has announced that new Navy, Ivory, and Moss color options will be available to preorder on August 22 at 12:01AM PT / 3:01AM ET.

These orders will start shipping on August 30, at which time they'll also be available to purchase in Apple Stores. The new colors are already listed on Apple's website, but they're not yet available to purchase. All three color options feature the same $249.95 USD price tag as the black color option.

In addition to being smaller and lighter than the past model, the new Powerbeats Pro offers 9 hours of audio playback, a number that jumps to 24 hours when the battery in the carrying/charging case is included. 'Fast Fuel' tech enables the case to recharge the earbuds for 1.5 hours of playback in only five minutes.
