New 10th Gen Intel Core 'Comet Lake' processors detailed: i3 to i7

A new collection of 10th Gen Intel Core processors were detailed with units from Core i3 all the way up to Core i7. Included this morning in the release from Intel were the Intel Core i7-10710U, i7-10510U, i5-10210U, and i3-10110U all in the "U-Series." Also included were the Y-Series processors Intel Core i3-10110Y, i5-10210Y, i5-10310Y, and i7-10510Y.

The Y-Series processors revealed today each have 4 IA cores and 8 threads, save the i3 processor which had half: 2 IA cores and 4 threads. All four new Y-Series Intel Core processors feature either 8 or 6MB cache and a max single core turbo at 4.0 (i3 and i5), 4.1 (i5), or 4.5 GHz (i7). Max all core turbo for the Y-Series are 3.7 (i3), 2.7 (i5 210Y), 2.8 (i5 310Y), and 3.2 GHz (i7), while graphics max frequency is 1.00, 1.05, 1.05, and 1.15 GHz respectively.

All 10th-Gen Y-Series Intel Core processors revealed today have LPDDR3 2133 memory support, and the following TDP values for Config Down, Nominal, and UP. 5.5W/7W/9W, 4.5W/7W/9W, 5.5W/7W/9W, and 4.5W/7W/9W for i3, i5 (210), i5 (310), and i7 respectively.

Intel Core i3-10110U in the U-Series includes 2/4 IA Cores/Threads, 4MB Cache, and 15W Nominal TDP / 25W Config UP TDP. This processor has 2.1 GHz base frequency, 4.1 GHz max single core turbo, 3.7 GHz max all core turbo, and 1 GHz max graphics frequency. The i3 has LPDDR4x 2933, LPDDR3 2133, and DDR4 2666 memory support.

The U-Series Intel Core i5-10210U includes 4 IA Cores/8 Threads, 6MB Cache, and 15W Nominal TDP / 25W Config UP TDP. This processor has 1.6 GHz base frequency, 4.2 GHz max single core turbo, 3.9 GHz max all core turbo, and 1.1 GHz max frequency for graphics. The i5 has LPDDR4x 2933, LPDDR3 2133, and DDR4 2666 memory support.

Intel Core i7-10510U in the U-Series includes 4/8 IA Cores/Threads, 8MB Cache, and 15W Nominal TDP / 25W Config UP TDP. This processor has 1.8 GHz base frequency, 4.9 GHz max single core turbo, 4.3 GHz max all core turbo, and 1.15 GHz max frequency for graphics. The i7 (105) has LPDDR4x 2933, LPDDR3 2133, and DDR4 2666 memory support.

The beefiest U-Series reveal today was the Intel Core i7-10710U processor which includes 6/12 IA Cores/Threads, 12MB Cache, and 15W Nominal TDP / 25W Config UP TDP. This processor has 1.1 GHz base frequency, 4.7 GHz max single core turbo, 3.9 GHz max all core turbo, and 1.15 GHz max frequency for graphics. This i7-10710U has LPDDR4x 2933, LPDDR3 2133, and DDR4 2666 memory support.

Above you'll see a feature on Intel Adaptix Technology, a technology embedded in and enabled by the processors revealed today. An Intel representative said that select designs include Intel Dynamic Tuning Tech (Adaptix!) "Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology now offers the first ever AI-based pre-trained algorithms to predict workloads and allow higher turbo burst when responsiveness is needed and extended time in turbo for sustained workloads."

These new 10th Gen Intel Core processors will be released with laptops and 2-in-1 hardware later this year – "for the holiday season." That means likely releases in the fourth quarter of 2019 – October, November, December. The same is true of desktop machines running 10th Gen Intel Core processors – we'll let you know when the first waves hit.
