Netflix unveils six new animated movies and TV shows for kids

Netflix has announced six new animated projects that'll usher in new original movies and TV shows for children. The content will be targeted at a wide variety of tastes and audiences, including viewers as young as preschoolers, older kids, and families. The projects include creatives from shows like Moana and Inside Out.

Netflix revealed the new projects today, saying they involves stories that "reflect diverse perspectives and cultures" for viewers around the globe. These six projects join other previously announced kids shows, the first of which (Motown Magic) will arrive in only a couple weeks.

The full lineup, including unreleased, previously announced shows, includes:

Maya and the Three

My Father's Dragon

Go! Go! Cory Carson

Kid Cosmic

Trash Truck

The Willoughbys

Jacob and the Sea Beast

Klaus

Mighty Little Bheem

Motown Magic

Over the Moon

Pinocchio

Wendell & Wild

Three of the projects will be debuting on Netflix some time next year, followed by another four in 2020, and yet another four in 2021. It's possible Netflix will tack additional projects onto its roadmap in the future, though nothing has been stated. Talking about the new projects is Netflix VP of Kids and Family Melissa Cobb:

We know that there is no one type of family. We embrace all kinds of creators so we can tell unique and diverse stories that resonate with each and every Netflix family. With our slate of global original animated feature films and series, we want to give families more moments to share the laughter, wonder and connection that comes from being immersed in a great story.
