Netflix streaming gobbles 20% of peak internet bandwidth in US

You don't have to be an analyst to see that the popularity of Netflix and its streaming service is booming. Netflix has been adding support for its streaming service to all manner of TVs, Blu-ray players, and other devices for a while now and the company now considers itself a streaming firm that also mails DVDs.

A new study has been published that has found out something that is very interesting about the Netflix streaming service and how many people in the US take advantage of it. According to the study, Netflix accounts for 20% of the peak internet bandwidth used in the US.

According to the study Netflix, streaming is highest in the 8 to 10 pm time slot. Netflix currently has 16.9 million subscribers and is considering a streaming only service. The study also found that the average monthly data use in North America is 4GB.
