Netflix set to debut first original show next month called Lilyhammer

I like Netflix well enough since I never had a DVD membership. Just having streaming content wasn't that big of a deal to me when the service split last year. I have wished for more content to watch though, and I was glad to hear that the company was going to get into streaming content that was original. One of those original shows is called Lilyhammer, and it is set to debut next month.

The show will be a Netflix original and will only be offered on the streaming site. The show stars The Sopranos actor Steven Van Zandt. The first season will see eight episodes air, and two seasons are reportedly ordered right now. The series follows Van Zandt as he enters witness protection after turning on his mob boss in New York and moves to Lillehammer in Norway in witness protection.

The Lilyhammer name of the show comes from the way the lead character says the name. You can check out the show trailer below and see for yourself what it is all about. The guy apparently starts his mob ways back up in Norway. Netflix is also working on two more original shows, including bringing new episodes of Arrested Development back.
