NEC PowerMate P4000 & P6000 All-in-One PCs

NEC has announced two new all-in-one desktop PCs, the PowerMate P4000 and the PowerMate P6000.  Each has a clean, minimalistic design, with a single power cable being the only necessary wired connection.  The P4000 has a 16-inch WXGA display while the P6000 has a 19-inch WXGA+ display, both with NEC Smart Super Shine View EX technology.  The P4000, though, makes do with a relatively weak 1.9GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor, while the P6000 ramps that up to a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

The P4000 pairs its Athlon with 1GB of RAM, 250GB of hard disk space and integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9100M G graphics.  The P6000 should be an all-round higher performer, with 2GB of RAM, 500GB storage and integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9300 graphics.  Both systems have WiFi b/g/n, gigabit ethernet, slot-loading DVD burner and multiformat memory card reader.

NEC bundle the PowerMate P4000 and P6000 with a wireless keyboard and mouse set, together with a MCE remote, and both systems make less than 30dB of noise during use.  They'll launch in Asia next week, priced at S$1,899 ($1,270) for the P4000 and S$2,499 ($1,675) for the P6000.
