NEC PA241W 24-inch LCD for graphics pros debuts

NEC makes all sorts of products from projectors to desktop LCD displays for computers with lots of other products in between. Several of the LCDs that NEC offers are aimed at the professional user needing more accurate colors than the consumer does. The latest pro level LCD from NEC has debuted today called the PA241W.

The display is a 24-inch monitor aimed at the professional working with print photography, video editing, print production, and other environments where colors are critical. The new display promises 102% coverage f the NTSC color gamut and 99.3% coverage of the Adobe RGB gamut.

The display also offers a 10-bit DisplayPort interface and a USB hub. The native resolution of the screen is 1920 x 1200 with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The LCD panel is a 10-bit IPS unit with a 14-bit lookup table with support for more than a billion possible colors. Brightness is 360 cd/m2 and the screen has a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The LCD is available to ship now for $1079.
