NEC debuts huge 52-inch P521 commercial LCD

NEC makes a lot of different displays for various uses. Typically, we talk about their green desktop displays for computer users. However, the firm also makes a range of much larger displays that can be used for other purposes than sitting on your desk.

The latest of the large-scale displays from NEC is the P521 that was introduced yesterday. The big 52-inch screen is the replacement for the MultiSync LCD5220 and adds new features and connectivity options to the outgoing display. One of the most important additions to the new screen is a DisplayPort connectivity option and Ethernet.

The screen has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio, brightness of up to 700 cd/m2, a sealed design, and an integrated expansion slot. Other connectivity options include VGA, DVI-D, BNC, composite, component, S-Video, HDMI, and more. The P521 also has a built-in IP Tuner and a QAM tuner in some models. The display will ship this month for $2,999.
