Motorola confirm Google Phone plans: Nexus Two incoming?

Motorola's CEO has apparently confirmed that the company is working on a Google-branded device, similar to the HTC-made Nexus One.  Speaking as part of the company's quarterly financial results call, chief executive Sanjay Jha revealed that Motorola were indeed developing a "direct to consumer device with Google".

Jha declined to give specifications or any hardware or software details for the handset, nor outline the timescale on which it might launch.  However one possibility is that the Motorola device – which could be the Google Nexus Two – is the same as the Motorola Shadow, a QWERTY slider a render of which leaked earlier this month.

Motorola apparently shipped 12m cellphones in the last three month period, of which 2m were described as Android smartphones.  The company did not reveal specific breakdowns or sales figures for the DROID specifically.
