Moto Z2 Force Edition released today by Verizon

This morning Verizon announced their official release of the Motorola Moto Z2 Force Edition. This device is Verizon's version of the device featured in our Moto Z2 Force Review from earlier this month. Verizon's release centers on the bits and pieces that come only with a purchase through their carrier – including Gigabit Class LTE service, launching with Verizon later this year.

The Moto Z2 Force Edition has a 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440p) (that's 1440 x 2560) AMOLED display – that's super bright and sharp and colorful. This display is protected by 2nd-gen Motorola-made ShatterShield for extra protection against destructive damage. Onboard is Android 7.1.1 Nougat, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage – and a microSD card slot for a potential 2TB more.

This smartphone works with Motorola's accessories that connect to the device's back magnetically. Verizon's exclusives include the Moto GamePad and the red color version of the JBL SoundBoost 2. Other Mods available from Verizon (but not exclusive) include the Moto TurboPower Pack and the 360 Camera Moto Mod. This version of the device also comes with an Insta-Projector Modo Mod (by mail) (while supplies last) (for eligible customers).

The Moto Z2 Force Edition was made available today in two color versions: Super Black and Fine Gold. This device was priced at Verizon at $756 retail, and "as low as" $15 a month for 24 months when adding on a new line of service with Verizon unlimited AND trade in an eligible smartphone.

Of note – the SoundBoost 2 is shipping now, while the Moto Gamepad will be shipping starting on 8/25. On the pricing – without that trade-in bit above, the device can be had for $31.50 a month for 24 months. In the end that comes out to $756 – AKA the full retail price. All purchases come with a "one time activation fee" of $30.
