Montreal to get citywide WiMAX coverage

As I stated in my article earlier, WiMAX is growing in popularity. We have just heard that Montreal will be getting citywide WiMAX coverage.

The coverage is coming from a joint venture between Nomad Telecom and Radioactif.com. They will begin work on this soon with the project slated to be completed in 2009. The first people to get access to the network could be as early as this September.

What is interesting is that they will be installing WiMAX and WiFi throughout the city. The WiMAX connection will not cost more that $30 per month, but with almost everyone having access to a WiFi card, I don't see many people jumping on the WiMAX bandwagon there.
