Monster Hunter: World's next crossover is a big one

In a relatively short amount of time, Monster Hunter: World has become Capcom's most successful game ever. Perhaps it's no surprise, then, that we're seeing Capcom roll out tie-in after tie-in for Monster Hunter: World players. First it was World's tie-in with Horizon Zero Dawn, which was followed with a Street Fighter promotion, and now, players are about to get some Devil May Cry-themed gear.

With Devil May Cry HD Collection arriving today, the timing of this new promotion is certainly more than a mere coincidence. As with the Street Fighter and Horizon Zero Dawn promotions, this one will allow you craft armor that makes your character look like Dante, the protagonist of the Devil May Cry series. That would probably be enough for most Devil May Cry fans, but Capcom is taking this tie-in one step further.

Players will also be able to unlock Dante's sword, the Force Edge. Monster Hunter: World's Force Edge will function like a charge blade, and even though you won't have a shield, you'll still be able to guard from attacks. Instead of transforming into a giant axe, the Force Edge will instead transform into a "massive" Alastor. Sounds pretty neat!

Like all of the other tie-ins that came before this one, you'll need to complete a special event quest to unlock all of this new gear. Capcom hasn't detailed that quest just yet, which suggests that it might be some time before we see it pop up. Still, it's on the way, and we'll hopefully have a launch day for it soon.

Meanwhile, Devil May Cry HD Collection bundles the first three games in the Devil May Cry series together in a package for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The games are given an HD coat of paint in the process, so fans of the old PS2 games will want to give it a look. It's available today for $29.99.
