Microsoft to add Mii-like Avatars to Xbox Live

I'm starting to think that I'm the only gamer in the world that just doesn't give a damn about having a cartoony representation of myself to screw with. I spent about 15 minutes making my Mii and haven't touched it since, nor have I really cared to look at it any more than I have to. I guess I'd just rather play my game than play dress-up with a cartoon all day. On that note, Microsoft has introduced the inclusion of Miis into Xbox Live. No they're not called Miis, but they might as well be.

Xbox Live is getting a big overhaul later this year, and one of the inclusions is an avatar system. See, your gamer tag will get linked to an avatar, which has been designed by the people at Rare. You will then have thousands of clothing and accessory options with which you can dress up your avatar. Let me tell you, I can't wait.

Here's the best part, you'll actually be able to use the avatars as playable characters in upcoming games. I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there that are going to love these things and sink countless hours into making them look perfect. Me? I'll probably throw a cool hat on it and never mess with it again.
