Microsoft and Taco Bell team once again on Xbox One X bundle

As they've done for the past couple of years, Taco Bell and Microsoft today announced that they've teamed up once again to giveaway some console bundles. Just like last year, there's a limited edition Xbox One X at the center of this bundle, with a design that isn't normally available. There are also a number of other items in the bundle, including the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, which was revealed back at E3 and is launching on November 4th.

While last year's Xbox One X was dubbed the Platinum Edition, this new one is called the Eclipse Edition. It features the same gradient design of last year's console, except instead of transitioning from silver to white, the Eclipse Edition transitions from black to silver. And, as with last year's console, the Eclipse Edition will also play the Taco Bell chime whenever you power it on, so hopefully you don't mind your Xbox doing a bit of fast food promotion on a regular basis.

For a chance to win one of these consoles, you'll need to pick up one of Taco Bell's double chalupa boxes beginning October 17th. There will be a code printed inside the box that you'll then have to text in to see if you've won. Assuming you get lucky, Taco Bell and Microsoft say they'll have the bundle to your door as soon as 48 hours after you've redeemed your code, noting that they're aiming to make shipping times faster than they've been in previous years.

As always, the two companies say they will be giving away one bundle every 10 minutes on average. Aside from the Xbox One X console and the Elite controller, the bundle will also include six months of Game Pass Ultimate, which normally runs $15 per month and includes subscriptions to Game Pass on Xbox and PC along with Xbox Live Gold.

Speaking of Game Pass Ultimate, there's another aspect to the giveaway this year. Those who order a double chalupa box online or through the Taco Bell app for in-store pickup will receive a code that's good for two weeks of Game Pass Ultimate. You'll be able to redeem two of those codes during the contest period, which is good for a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but keep in mind that redeeming them will upgrade any existing standard Game Pass/Gold memberships you have to a Game Pass Ultimate subscription "at a conversion ratio."

So, all in all, this promotion is more or the less the same as was last year, only with a new Xbox and a new controller. The promotion runs from October 17th to November 23rd, and while we wouldn't recommend eating only double chalupa boxes for the duration of the giveaway, those of you who eat at Taco Bell regularly might want to consider picking up a few and trying your luck.
