Michael Kors Runway Wear OS smartwatch offers NFC, heart rate tracking

Fossil Group has released a new Wear OS smartwatch, the Michael Kors Runway, featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 2100 alongside a classy design and heart rate tracking. This is a smartwatch version of the classic Michael Kors Runway watch, adding new silicone band options while retaining the same generally small size.

The new Michael Kors Runway smartwatches are fairly small, sporting a 1.2-inch circular display with a 390 x 390 resolution. The battery should last a full day, according to the company, and the watch has a 3ATM "swim-proof" water resistance rating. The smartwatch model is being offered in gold, silver, and rose gold color variants with steel and silicone band options.

In addition to NFC, which enables the smartwatch to be used for payments via Google Pay, the watch also has GPS support, which is used by athletes for tracking during runs and other activities. Given that feature, it's no surprise that Fossil Group also packed heart rate monitoring into its latest Michael Kors smartwatch.

The watch runs Google's Wear OS, bringing all the features you'd get on other Wear OS smartwatches. According to Engadget, this model also includes Michael Kors watch faces that are customizable; users can choose photo dials designed around social platforms. These new watch faces, as shown in the image above, also bring heart rate into a prominent position.

Assuming you get the Runway Wear OS model with one of the silicone bands, the price starts at $295 USD; the version with a steel band jumps to $350 USD.
