Metro Redux releasing Last Light and 2033 remastered for next-gen

The game Metro Redux is a combination of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light entirely re-mastered and improved for the next generation of gaming consoles and gaming PCs. These titles are amongst some of the highest-rated games in their genre – we even used Metro: Last Light as our key example for PC streaming for NVIDIA SHIELD – now they're returning as digital downloads for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What's interesting about these releases is that they're being brought on in a double-dose – instead of one, single, massive title, two games are again being delivered as two games. They've got one title, Metro Redux, but will be found on their respective digital download platforms as Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux.

Users will be able to pick up either title for $24.99 USD or in a double-pack which will cost $49.99 USD. In all cases, all DLC will be included – that's every downloadable content pack available for each game since inception.

Above you'll also see a Vine from the creators of the Metro experience with a comment: "All systems go. Frame rate locked."

Two different modes of play will be introduced here as well: Survival and Spartan. The Metro 2033 "Survival" mode will allow you to play "a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier AI, and slower reload speeds." Those of you wishing to go back to Metro 2033 with the far more action-oriented gameplay of Last Light can do so with "Spartan" mode.

Also note that the team at Deep Silver are dedicated to the future of Valve's SteamOS. While the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC versions will be available "this summer", dedicated Linux and SteamOS versions will be released later this year.
