MEIZU smartphone makers headed to USA

The folks responsible for devices like the MX, MX2, and MX3 inside China are letting it be known this week that they'll soon enter the USA. As we saw all the way back in 2012, the Meizu MX was the start of something big. Without pushing too hard on the revolutionary look of the device, the company had done something extraordinary: they made a device that wasn't immediately overshadowed by its competitors.

Having been around long enough to have nearly captured the crown for first Android device with a quad-core processor and appearing – at first – to be a competitor for the iPad with its own tablet offering, MEIZU isn't a brand new company. They've been around the block a couple of times at this point, getting busy with the United States over the past year with review units for international publications (like SlashGear) so that they might be better viewed before their first jump beyond their own borders.

So what do they have to say about their release here in the USA so far? Not one whole heck of a lot. So far they've made clear that this is "the first step in a long-term strategy to persue the U.S. market", that they'll be previewing devices at CES 2014, and that they'll present devices that are truly "today" and coming with "consumer-friendly pricing."

That's extremely basic, and leaves a lot of room open for interpretation – and a lot of room for imagination. Just the same as their packaging does for each smartphone they've released over the past year. Here the company thrives – they certainly know how to keep a line outside their nightclub, so to speak.
