Marvel Comics licensed LCD TVs break cover

George Lucas pimped out my childhood Star Wars heroes on just about everything he could, I guess it stands to reason Marvel Comics would look to license its litany of childhood heroes to companies looking to cater to geeks who grew up with comic icons like Captain America and The Hulk. A company I have never heard of called RTC23 has unveiled a line of licensed Marvel Comics TVs.

The sets will be offered in 22", 32", 42", and 55" LCD TVs and a 40" or 46" LED backlit TV. The sets feature iconic Marvel Comics character Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Wolverine, Thor and others. The characters are on the bottom of the TV bevel and have themed splash screens when you turn on the TV.

The splash screen shows for eight seconds each time the set comes on, which would get old really quick. The sets support 720p or 1080p resolutions depending on screen size. The smaller screens have 8000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, and a single HDMI input. Larger screens have 80000:1 dynamic contrast ratios and four HDMI inputs. Pricing for the normal LCD TVs ranges from $339 to $1989 depending on size. The LED sets have 1080p resolution, 3M:1 dynamic contrast, four HDMI inputs and cost $1699 to $1989.
