Marshall Mid Bluetooth headphones boast 30+ hours of playback
Marshall has launched a new pair of wireless headphones, the Marshall Mid Bluetooth model. The new offering looks very similar to the Major II headphones the company released a while ago, but with some notable differences, namely a new hinge and ear cup design. The previous model's best feature is still here, though: crazy long battery life. Marshall says you'll get at least 30 hours of playback per charge with the Mid Bluetooth.
Visually speaking, a pair of small curled cables running from the ear cups to the headband and modern hinges are the only significance difference over the Major II. The Major II, as we noted in our review, offers very long battery life, and the Mid Bluetooth promise to match that, exceeding the 30-hour playback rating. The new model features the same small golden control knob, as well.
The Marshall Mid Bluetooth headphones feature Bluetooth aptX support, a 30ft Bluetooth connectivity range, and a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening. That audio port can also be used to share music you're listening to over Bluetooth with someone else. Though the hinges have changed, the Mid Bluetooth still enables users to fold the ear cups into the headband space when not in use.
The headphones boast 40mm dynamic drivers and a decent frequency range of 10Hz to 20kHz, as well as 21ohm impedance and 95dB SPL sensitivity. Battery charging is done via micro USB. Unlike the Major II, Marshall's website shows the Mid Bluetooth as only available in "Black." The price is also higher at $199 USD versus the Major II's $119 USD price tag.
