Magnetic Floating Bed

Sign me up for one of these floating beds!  Be mindful that if the price of 1.2M euros alone doesn't kill you, the electrical bills will.  I'm no expert in this area, but I'd speculate that it would take a hell of a lot of energy to levitate the bed.

Superconductivity is a phenomenon that can occur in certain materials at low temperatures, characterized by exactly zero electrical resistance and the exclusion of the interior magnetic field (also known as the Meissner effect).

OK now in English, when this stuff gets really cold, magnets can float over it for a very long time until the stuff warms up again.

If roads were made out of this superconductivity stuff, and kept cold, you can strap magnets to your feet, your car, your skateboard, etc. This will allow you to float, and if you move you will keep moving with zero ground resistance. However, you will still be effected by wind resistance, but if anything the wind will just push you even faster.
