M.A.S.S. electric bicycles are designed by Philippe Starck

Moustache Bikes, maker of electric bicycles, has teamed up with famous French designer Philippe Starck to design a series of four new bicycles. These four bikes comprise the M.A.S.S collection, and are each targeted at the different environments in which cyclists find themselves.

The M.A.S.S collection was unveiled at the Eurobike trade fair in recent weeks, each of them targeted at various terrains: sand and mud, snow and asphalt. Each model is very much a bicycle rather than a moped, which is a more accurate term for many electric bikes.

The bikes feature an electric motor that assists cyclists who pedal as with any other bicycle. There's a lithium-ion battery on board adding a bit over 5lbs to the bike's weight, with the max speed being 28 miles per hour on the asphalt-specific model. Moustache Bikes says riders will get 18 or more miles on a charge.

This isn't the only time we've seen products designed under Starck. The designer recently worked with LaCie to design its Blade Runner, for example, and he has worked with Apple in the past. Hit up the timeline below for more news.
