Logitech Touch Lapdesk hides pull-out multitouch trackpad

Logitech has outed its latest peripheral for notebook users, the Logitech Touch Lapdesk N600, and while it initially looks like any other lap pad it actually hides a slide-out secret. Pull at the right edge, and there's a 5-inch multitouch trackpad to be found, along with a neat row of volume, mute and browser shortcut buttons.

Battery life, Logitech reckons, is around six months from four AAAs, and connectivity is via the company's usual Unifying receiver – which will also work with other mice and keyboards from the firm. The pad itself is scaled for up to 16-inch notebooks, though the trackpad looks to be Windows-only right now.

Cooling is all passive, rather than using fans, with various layers of what Logitech describes as "heat shielding" material. Pricing is $69.99, though the Touch Lapdesk won't go on sale until later this month.
