Lincoln Nautilus SUV packs luxury and safety tech galore

Lincoln has rolled out an all-new SUV called the Nautilus that falls into the super popular midsize SUV market. The luxury vehicle has a turbo engine and lots of driver assistance tech. Part of that tech is a new Lincoln-first technology that centers the vehicle in its lane.

The Nautilus slots into the Lincoln as a replacement for the MKX and alongside the refreshed MKC that debuted recently. Lincoln says that when owners approach the vehicle it will automatically activate lights first on the outside and then in the cabin of the vehicle.

Nautilus is offered with available Ultra Comfort seats that have 22 different adjustments along with lumbar massage to reduce fatigue. Heated and cooled seats are offered on the Reserve version. The infotainment system features available 13 and 19-speaker Revel audio systems.

The gear shifter is a push-button affair with knobs and buttons rather than a traditional shifter. The car has SYNC 2 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The instrument cluster is a 12.3-inch digital unit that is user configurable.

Other than that lane-centering feature, safety tech includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Nautilus also has evasive steering assist to help avoid rear-end collisions by steering around a vehicle. The vehicle also gets pre-collision assist and pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, lane departure, and active park assist. The brakes will hold themselves in stop-and-go traffic. The engine is a 335hp 2.7L unit optional and a 2.0L four with 245hp is standard.
