LG webOS TV set for CES 2014 debut features Cards navigation

Word has been circulating since about mid-December that LG is planning to unveil a new smart TV powered by webOS at CES 2014. The webOS operating system hasn't exactly found a successful niche in the tech world so far and LG thinks that niche may be in the smart TV market.

We know, or at least think we know, some of the hardware details of the webOS smart TV including that it will use a 2.2GHz dual core processor. The TV is also tipped to have 1.5GB of RAM. Other than those two tidbits, we are in the dark about the specs for the TV.

Another little tidbit about the smart TV has been tipped recently. An anonymous source claiming to know about LG's plans for the webOS TV has tipped a little detail about webOS itself on the set. The source says that the smart TV will use the Cards interface.

That Cards interface is said to have inspired the multitasking capabilities of other smartphones from Apple, Google, and Microsoft. All other details of the TV remain a mystery. With CES 2014 kicking off early next month, we only have a few weeks before the details should be laid bare.
