Sony's PS2 Sees a Price Drop...In Japan

Good news for Japanese customers looking for a good deal on a gaming system! While it's not an enormous price drop, Sony's current-generation PlayStation 2 machine has seen a small cut over in Japan, dropping from between 17800-19800 yen (about $152-$169 USD) to 16000 yen, or about $136.50 USD. Again, the long-awaited drop isn't the huge cut that some would have liked to have seen, but hey, it's better than nothing, right? The new prices will take effect on September 15th, so if you were thinking about grabbing a Japanese PS2, it might be best to wait until then.
