Lexus NX Compact Crossover to debut next week

Lexus has taken the wraps off its upcoming NX Compact Crossover and plans to debut it next Sunday, April 20, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The NX will be available with three powertrain options, one of which is a full hybrid.

The Turbo NX 200t will feature a gasoline engine, while the NX 200 is "naturally aspirated" and the NX 300h is a full hybrid powertrain. There are also plans to launch an NX 200t F SPORT model, which Lexus says will offer drivers "unique" interior and exterior features, none of which have been detailed.

The car's features haven't all been laid bare yet, but among what is known, the Lexus NX models will feature the spindle grille, LED headlights, daytime running lamps, and 17-inch or 18-inch wheels, depending on customization. Inside, drivers will have, among other things, ample head room and knee pads on the center stack's base for support.

The Lexus NX derived its design from the Lexus LF-NX concepts that were shown off back at the 2013 Frankfurt and Tokyo Motor Shows. The crossover's aim is "young, urban drivers", offering a luxury vehicle flair with versatility and various perks. No information on the car's pricing and availability have been provided.
